Ray 'Duchy' Peter was born a Thalidomide baby and rejected by those who should have loved him. But finding a strength from deep inside, he battled to become one of the most feared people in East London earning himself the moniker 'The Regulator'. Now a top bouncer and black belt in karate, he has refused to succumb to the blows that life has dealt him, be it rejection, disability or death. A Fighting Chance is an uplifting true story of one man's struggle to survive.

Duchy was born Raymond Matthew Peter and, despite a terrible, impoverished upbringing, became one of the most feared people in East London. He now lives in South London, with his wife Jane.
