Gary Wolstenholme for just 99p!

By Chris - 27-06-2012 Rating:
Gary Wolstenholme is the most famous amateur golfer of recent times, eschewing the professional golfing world to remain an amateur and represent GB and Ireland in an incredible 6 Walker Cups, winning 4 along the way and becoming GB and Ireland's leading points scorer of all time. He has played with all of the biggest names in golf and has claimed many notable scalps along the way, not least beating a youthful Tiger Woods!

His autobiography The Long and the Short of It was recently published and the e-book is currently the subject of a fantastic Kindle offer - being sold at just 99p!

After winning numerous amateur titles, including winning the Amateur Championship twice and being awarded an MBE in 2007, Gary decided to turn pro at the tender age of 47 after being told in no uncertain terms that he would not be able to represent his country in the Walker Cup again. Although he wasn't given a reason why, it is easy to suspect it was because they believed he was too old.

However, Gary swiftly proved his doubters wrong by turning pro and immediately having success. Currently he is playing on the European Senior Tour and he has already won twice this year from five appearances, proving to those who thought he wouldn't have made it in the professional world just how good he could have been!
