I came back from Italy to find that a) the weather in Britain is awful b) the Strictly Come Dancing line-up has been announced (very very excited) and c) things have been kicking off on the X-Factor. I'm not a regular X-Factor viewer but the youtube video upload of the Catherine Tate style cat fight/punch-up on stage was enough to catch my attention. I then began to watch some of the other auditions and, to my surprise, some of them were quite enjoyable. Watching Dermot O'Leary teeing up some of the contestants before they go on stage and then comforting them after an abysmal audition is brilliant entertainment.
In a recent story, the Daily Star has reported that Dermot has been handed a contract to star in X-Factor USA, and he is ready to sign the line. The show will hit the screens next year. The television host whose first venture in front of a live audience nearly ended in disaster has fast become a busy boy.
In October, we will be publishing
Presenting Dermot O'Leary. Author Neil Simpson will take an intimate look at the famously private star. He draws on the memories of Dermot's friends and colleagues in the unique biography, which cover everything from relationships to his religion, his love of football to the support of his family.
