The Murdoch Empire

By Chris - 11-05-2012 Rating:
The Leveson inquiry has rumbled on this week with testimony from Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks, two people who were formerly the most powerful figures in British media. As the inquiry has gone on, what has become clearer is that nobody is safe from its reach - as Jeremy Hunt has found out in the last few weeks.

It has also become obvious just how far Rupert Murdoch's influence has been felt with some claiming he had so much power over British politics that whoever had his support would be the next PM. But now, under so much scrutiny, it appears that his empire may be crumbling around him, especially after a select committee passed a judgement the Murdoch was 'unfit' to run his own company and had shown 'wilful blindness' with regards to the phone hacking debacle.

John Lisners, who has worked for over thirty years as a freelance journalist dealing closely with News of the World editors, has written The Rise and Fall of the Murdoch Empire, which gives a close analysis of the story behind the media empire that Murdoch built up. Inside there are graphic accounts of the culture at the papers, the methods they used and the people who worked there. You can pre-order your copy here today.
