Joe Johnson was born in Edmonton, north London, in 1945, one of nine children of a rag-and-bone man. He left school at 15 and had a variety of jobs including warehouseman, print-worker and undertaker. In 1998 he won £10 million on The National Lottery and now lives with his third wife Lisa and their children in Spain.
