Dark Knight Rising

By Alex - 10-07-2012 Rating:
When Tom Hardy started his acting career, his personal indicator of success was if he managed to appear as a police officer on The Bill; he was clearly underestimating his own talent. Born into a middle-class family and sent to the prestigious Tower House prep school and Reeds School, Tom had high expectations on his young shoulders. It was during this period that he began to rebel and his teenage years and early-twenties were plagued with battles against alcoholism and drugs which he attributes to the breakdown of his five-year marriage in 2004.

A chance to rehabilitate was the turning point for Hardy and he has continued on his ascent ever since. His recent roles in Inception and Tinker tailor Soldier Spy as well as the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises indicate his immense talent and ability; the more light-hearted rom-com This Means War with Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon demonstrated just another facet of this incredibly gifted actor. James Haydock's Dark Star Rising explores Hardy's career and what has made him the star he is today; a must-read for fans of one of Britain's best.
